The Arab American Police Association extends it’s deepest sympathies to the family of Commander Bauer and to our brothers and sisters of the Chicago Police Department. A great loss to the Law Enforcement community. He will not be forgotten.
On January 20, 2018, Officer Haytham Elyyan was awarded the Park Forest Police Department’s, Officer of the Year Award. His hard work and dedication also earned him two (2) Outstanding Service Awards and his agencies 3rd Term Award. The Arab American Police Association is proud of his accomplishments. Officer Haytham Elyyan has been a long time member of the association beginning with his service as a Community Service Officer with the Lincolnshire Police Department and then his appointment with the Park Forest Police Department nearly 2 years ago.
Illinois Seat Belt Laws
According to Illinois Law all vehicle occupants, regardless of seating position, are required to use a properly adjusted and fastened seat belt. Fines start at $25 and may vary depending on associated court costs and number of violations.

The Child Passenger Protection Act was enacted to further protect the most vulnerable occupants of vehicles, young children. The fine for failing to properly restrain a child is $75 for the first offense and $200 for the second offense.
